Our people

We are an Australian agency with collective experience spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific, and we bring a global perspective to local programmes and issues. Our consultants are experts in developing and implementing a range of communication programmes across multiple industry sectors and international markets for both local and global brands. We have advised the boards and senior management of leading companies and public institutions in Australia and overseas. We understand our clients’ internal challenges through our own experience as in-house communication specialists for a range of private and public organisations, both locally and abroad.

David Van, Managing Director

David Van

De Wintern Group managing director David Van has 19 years’ experience as a communications professional and broad knowledge of corporate and marketing communications, public affairs, investor relations, crisis and issues management, and brand development.  His career has spanned the globe from Australia to Asia, Europe and the U.S.

David has recently been elected to the national board of the Public Relations Intstitute of Australia (PRIA)

David has been called upon to manage some of Australia’s biggest issues and crises over the past fifteen years. He has worked with clients involved with the courts, both as litigant and defendant. David has advised clients through regulatory (ACCC and ASIC) and commercial actions and can provide some unique insights about how to align reputation management and demands of the legal system. He has spoken and written on the following topics in various arenas:

  • Sustainability communications

 

Will Clarke, Senior Account Director

Will has 19 years’ PR and marketing experience gained from both consulting and in-house roles in the UK, USA and Australia in business to business, business to consumer and business to employee environments. He has a track record in developing and implementing media, analyst and influencer campaigns for companies, as well as organisational and change management.

In Australia, he ran the communications consultancy for Mellon HR&IS, and has held senior communications roles for Coles and Telstra where he advised the executive leadership teams. For the last four years he was Public Relations Manager for NEC Australia. He has extensive experience of working with government departments including the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy. He has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Medieval and Modern History from the University of Birmingham and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from Manchester Metropolitan University.

 

Honi Rosenwax, Account Director

Honi Rosenwax has six years’ experience in the development and execution of communications campaigns for clients in a range of industries including telecommunications, banking and finance, property, IT, and consumer goods. Honi is adept at applying both traditional and social media communications tools on clients’ behalf. Before joining De Wintern, Honi worked for a boutique agency specialising in consumer PR and investor relations. Previously, Honi ran her own company that assisted fashion and consumer brands, leading to a nomination and eventual runner up spot in the 2005 Telstra Business Awards. Honi has a public relations degree from RMIT University, Melbourne.

 

Cameron Jenkins, Senior Account Manager

Cameron Jenkins has more than six years’ experience working across Public Relations, marketing and events for high profile brands including EA SPORTS, Ford, Mitre 10, David Jones, Toyota, The City of Melbourne and Visy. He has experience working at both agencies and inside companies, which has given him valuable insight into current best practice, as well as an understanding of how to operate within a wider business where different units are working towards one company goal. Cameron is adaptable to working at various levels with previous experience operating and running teams on national, regional and global levels during his career for well-known brands.

 

Julia Chalk, Account Executive

Prior to joining De Wintern, Julia worked as a Communications Consultant for The Australian Red Cross at their National office. Julia has an Undergraduate Diploma in Mass Communication and a Bachelor of Arts (Media) from Deakin University. As well as this, she recently completed a Master of Professional Communication (Public Relations).

 

Alice Cope, Account Executive

Before joining De Wintern, Alice was a corporate lawyer for over six years with one of Australia’s leading law firms, Allens Arthur Robinson. Alice brings extensive strategic corporate advisory experience from her former legal practice, where she was involved in advising some of Australia’s largest companies on mergers and acquisitions and broader corporate issues across a range of sectors, including energy and resources and financial services. Alice holds a Bachelor of Finance, Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), and is currently completing a Master of Communication (Public Relations).
