Our People

We are an Australian agency with collective experience spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific, and we bring a global perspective to local programmes and issues. Our consultants are experts in developing and implementing a range of communication programmes across multiple industry sectors and international markets for both local and global brands. We have advised the boards and senior management of leading companies and public institutions in Australia and overseas. We understand our clients’ internal challenges through our own experience as in-house communication specialists for a range of private and public organisations, both locally and abroad.

De Wintern Group founder and Managing Director David Van has 25 years’ experience as a communications professional and is the leading expert on managing reputational risk. He has broad knowledge of corporate and marketing communications, public affairs, government relations, investor relations, crisis and issues management, and reputation remediation. His career has spanned the globe from Australia to Asia, Europe and the U.S.

David has been called upon to manage some of Australia’s biggest issues and crises over the past fifteen years. He has worked with clients involved with Royal Commissions (Longford, HIH and Victorian Bushfires). David has also advised clients through regulatory prosecutions (ACCC and ASIC), ICAC inquiries and commercial litigation and can provide some unique insights about how to align reputation management and demands of the legal system.
